How can you tell if virtual console games on the wii are downloaded legally?
I am looking to buy a wii on ebay and am interested in the wii virtual console games, is there any way to tell if they have been downloaded legally once I buy it? I have seen that there are places to download them for free (illegal) and don’t want to have illegal games on my wii.

No, there’s no way to tell from the games directly, but you should easily be able to tell if the Wii itself has been modded. For example, if there are any non-commercial Wii channels, such as the Homebrew Channel. Also, unless the Wii is modded, there is no way that the Wii you’re buying could have any illegal games on it.

yes they are COMPLETLY legal becouse they are straight from Nintendo themselves (and u pay a small sum of money for each title)
the prices per title are as following (japanese imports are a buck or two more)
Commodor 64:$5
NES:$5
Sega Master System:$5
SNES:8
Sega Genesis:$8
N64:$10 (pretty good prices eh?)
Turbo Grafx:$6
Turbo Grafx CD:$8
Neo Geo:$9

I would HIGHLY recomend A Wii Classic Controller. it makes gamplay easyer and you CANNOT play N64 games without it (of course instead you can use a gamecube controller
