When I type on the keypad, the volume is too loud. How do I turn it down?

I just got this nintendo ds a few days ago, and I cannot understand how to change the volume when I’m playing my harvest moon ds game, sometimes on the bus and currently the volume is up quite loud, any help appreciated.

I have my ringer volume turned up all the way, but the alarm clock volume is always very, very low. Is there a way to change this? The official LG enV user guide says nothing about it.

After watching a few videos on YouTube, my volume begins to crackle, the only way i can fix this is to reboot. I have Vista (lucky old me) and my lap top is a kick ass HP Pavilion.
